This past thursday through saturday we had a staff retreat to a place called "Kaupo", that is pronounced cow-po. It is on the other side of the island from where we live in Haiku, and it is really far from anything. I can now see why I have not been over to this place in two years of living on this island. There's no real reason you should come other than to see the beauty of the island. But, it does make a great get-away place that has very little in the way of interuptions. The nearest gas station is about an hour away.


Our time out there was more for refreshing and relaxing than anything. Our last Discipleship Training School left on outreach this last Tuesday morning so everyone on our base is kind of taking a breather from the daily impact of having another 40 people around or base and the work that creates. It was a much needed fun get-away for many of the staff to just leave behind the responsibilities of our daily jobs.

While out there we played self-made games like launching people into the air using a tarp, or relays.
